Stratus

Brunswick East, Victoria

Method

To use architecture to express a metaphoric history of the neighbourhood.

Architecture

Brunswick’s history is an integral part of Melbourne’s narrative and Stratus’ architecture highlights its significance. Through a multitude of layered textures and screens, the building embodies the industrial heritage of the area without becoming literal. The addition of the neon awning and angled features makes this structure modern yet appropriate for its lively surrounds.
